The course, which does not confer a degree, on Digital Literacy for the Job Market, is modeled after a successful program that has been in operation for 12 years at the Autonomous University of Madrid. The School of Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém has undertaken the initiative to adapt and implement this training program within the Portuguese context over the span of two academic years. Notably, the course spans four semesters, during which the curriculum provided by our colleagues in Madrid has been graciously utilized, albeit with necessary adjustments to accommodate the Portuguese reality and cater to young individuals with intellectual disabilities, whose degree of incapacity is equal to or exceeds 60%. This innovative and inclusive program stands out as the pioneering model in higher education for individuals with intellectual limitations. It serves as a point of reference in Portugal, positioning the School of Education at Santarém as a leader in social and vocational education within the higher education landscape.
